Dowless Project

Ms. Dowless is a sweet, single 79-year-old lady living on social security.  She had her manufactured home reroofed about 10 years ago and has been struggling with leakage in multiple areas ever since.  After failed attempts by the original contractor to fix the problems, and followups by other contractors, she was left with a leaky roof and no money to get it repaired properly.  Ms. Dowless learned about Catalyst from the Aging and Disability Service hotline.

Upon our assessment last year, we determined that the install was bad - especially in areas where flashing was installed improperly.  We tarped the leaking areas, and returned this Summer to demo & replace everything.  It was a really big job due to the roof's complexity, and took a full 5-days for Darrell and the crew of volunteers....but we got it done, and Ms. Dowless is so thankful!

We partnered with Malarkey Roofing Products and Abundant Life Church to give Ms. Dowless a brand-new, non-leaky roof!  Malarkey donated all of the shingles and underlayment, and Abundant Life mobilized volunteers to help with the work!
