Watson Project
May 3-5 in Beaverton, OR
This was a fairly large, all-weekend project to provide significant mobile home repairs for a low-income family in Beaverton. Mr. & Mrs. Watson have 2 school-aged girls. Mr. Watson is very handy, but has been unable to keep up with some critical needs due to his ongoing battle with cancer. He is currently in chemo/radiation therapy, and cannot work. Ms. Watson has her hands full taking care of everybody, and they really needed our help! Crew Chiefs Shawn Mitchell & Troy Hall worked with Operations Director Kirsten Williams to pull-off a very busy & productive weekend with about 50 volunteers!
Projects included:
-
Repaired sunken subfloor in living room, and installed new Pergo there and in hallway
-
Replaced all gutters, waterproofed windows
-
Massive repairs & rebuilding of broken-down shed
-
Miscellaneous household repairs & TLC
Project Partners:
Sunset Presbyterian Church - provided funding & about 40 volunteers for their annual ENGAGE emphasis!
Band of Brothers - provided about 10 volunteers, including very crucial project leads
