CASS (Curb Appeal Student Style) 1: Parson Project
Oct 2011
Beaverton, OR

Opal's front yard was transformed by 50 volunteers who gave 376 volunteer hours.  This project was spearheaded by Catalyst's fantastic new friend and project partner, Robin Quon. Kudos also to the following:
* Beaverton School District, Meadow Park Middle School - Principal Toshiko Maurizio, Teacher Chelsey Evans, Maureen Wheeler in the Public Info office and graphic artist Kimberly Valetski
* Colorworks Garden Design - Deb Rossi for her work with the kids at Meadow Park and her amazing landscape design
* System Pavers - Scott Hartman, for the beautiful walkway, and the extra pavers that made the rest of the details possible
* Icon Construction - Darren Gusdorf and Matt Handris and their team, for the food for everyone, the comfort station, the printing and all of their efforts
* Lakeside Lumber - for the discount on the cedar for the deck, arranged by Icon's Darren Gusdorf
* JP Landscaping - Jose Pelasios and his amazing crew and machines that made Saturday so incredibly productive!
* Cornell Farms Nursery - Deby Barnhardt for all of the plants
* Parr Lumber - Jason Robertson for the way cool trailer and BBQ that fed us so well
* Cedar Mill Lumber - Ken, for the gravel we needed
* Habitat for Humanity, ReStore - Beaverton and SE Portland, Alex - for all of the materials they were able to supply at no cost
* Ace Hardware, Cedar Mill - Rodger Curtis for solar lighting, pots and brackets for our window box
* Impact Signs - Christi for the banner material and the makings for the reminder signs posted in the neighborhood
* Bales Thriftway - Bakery for the amazing cake (see photo)
* Donuts Plus - Donuts for the volunteers
* Cory Knudsen - Videographer, who worked as well!
* And last, but certainly not least, Opal, for allowing us to invade her yard and her home and transform it!

Plans are already underway for another similar project next April 2012!
