On February 7, 2015, Allen Temple CME Church endured two electrical fires that caused major damage to the roof and interior of the church building.  In 2016 they began a campaign to rally the community; urging business leaders, families, churches, and community organizations to help them rebuild.  They have been meeting temporarily at a partnering church facility while their historic home is rebuilt.  It's been a long process, and they are nearly finished.  Catalyst mobilized volunteers to help them get ready to re-open this year!

Since 1949 the Allen Temple CME Church has been a community-oriented church serving the Northeast and North Portland communities through dynamic community outreach programs; such as drug abuse recovery, homeless services, and a food-bank that serves approx. 1,400 individuals each year.  You can learn more about the church at https://www.atcpdx.org.

Catalyst built about 150 feet of wood fencing around the perimeter, and as screening for the waste bin area & HVAC utilities.  Fencing projects are always a lot of fun, and great for volunteers of all ages & skill levels.  We had about 25-40 willing participants, and it was awesome!
