Ford Project
September 7 in Beaverton, OR

Ford Ramp GuysMs. Ford is 81 years old and lives on a fixed-income.  She lives in a 5th wheel trailer in a mobile home park in Beaverton, along with her daughter who is battling terminal cancer.  She struggled to get in & out of her trailer because the previous landing & stairs were rickety and too steep.  She gets around with the assistance of a walker, which may lead to a wheelchair in the future.

We worked together with
First Baptist Church in Beaverton, and Solid Rock Church in Tigard/Beaverton, to build a handicap access ramp from their parking space up to the trailer.  From Solid Rock: Troy Hall & Caleb Mazil (Crew Chiefs), JJ Milmore (Operations Director), and Shonda Milmore (Project Advocate) from Solid Rock's BOBS group (Band Of Brothers & Sisters) headed up 20 volunteers who donated 150 manhours of labor to pull-off the project.  From First Baptist: Kelly Nelson mobilzed residents & friends from the mobile home park and leveraged support from the church.
