Haring Project
July 8-10 in Milwaukie

50109403567 7765e3819f cMs. Haring is an 80-year-old woman who has owned her 1938 Milwaukie home for 16-years. Her nephew also lives with her and helps with expenses, cooking, and cleaning. They are very low-income, and were referred to us by Clackamas County for assistance.  Ms. Haring is having some trouble getting around these days, and is preparing for an upcoming hip-replacement surgery.  She is using a walker more & more.

A small group of volunteers built a 16-foot-long handicap-access ramp for her on the side of the home, constructed a small porch with adjacent stairs, and poured a small concrete landing for the ramp.  We really appreciate their efforts to lend a hand to Ms. Haring, especially during the current pandemic.  John Ely, Kevin Hormann, and Mike LeClaire are pictured here.  These guys are heroes!

After the project, Ms. Haring emailed the Catalyst office with this note:  "I have nothing but praise for the wonderful gentlemen who built my ramp.  Kind, professional and efficient.   I enjoyed chatting a little with them.   Thank you so much Catalyst NW for my new ramp.   It’s had a lot of use already and it is a God send for me."
