Ms. Fox is a 66 year-old disabled woman living in a single-family home the same age as she is. Her social-security income is consumed almost entirely by her mortgage. She earns some additional income by renting rooms to two people who are also disabled, one of whom is her caregiver.  The roof above their dining room and kitchen leaked catastrophically in 2019, causing the ceiling to partially collapse.  They have been unable to address the repairs, and the situation has kept them from obtaining full homeowners insurance.  They found Catalyst by dialing 211, and we tarped their roof last Fall.

We returned this Summer to replace the failed section of roof and repair the kitchen ceiling.  Before reconstruction could begin we had removed all the sheetrock and insulation, and there was a 40 sf hole in the roof (photo above).  As the project progressed, we decided to retexture and paint the walls as well, so that they could have a secure and lovely area to enjoy.  We couldn't have done it without our amazing volunteers and partners!
