BEFORE & AFTER (Yes, it's the same shot!)

Ms. Hyneman is a single 63 year-old disabled woman who has owned her 1930's era home for 23-years. She is on a fixed-income of under $1,000 per month, and uses a wheelchair much of the time. Over the past several years, blackberries, other trees & shrubs, and discarded items had taken over a large portion of her backyard...honestly about a tenth of an acre.  She had been fined $500 so far by the City of Milwaukie, and was due in court less than a week before our project. Her case worker reached out to Catalyst for help.

Thanks to our amazing volunteers, and our partners at Abundant Life Church, we were able to mobilize 20 volunteers on short-notice to do a massive cleanup effort on Friday, Oct. 6 to take care of the mess.  With the help of heavy-equipment rental and our 16 CY dump trailer, we took 5 full loads to the dump and completely cleared the area for Ms. Hyneman.  Shortly after the project, the Milwaukie code enforcement officer dropped all charges, fees, and the court date!

Thank God for our amazing volunteers and donors who make this stuff possible!
