Ms. Baxter

At 62, Ms. Baxter faces daily challenges living with a disability while surviving on a limited Social Security income. With a full-time live-in caregiver by her side, she navigates life’s obstacles, but one major hazard was right under her feet—her peeling, damaged carpet. The uneven flooring posed a serious risk, making it dangerous for her to move safely when she was able to get out of bed.

Catalyst Partnerships stepped in to help.

Mobilizing a team of dedicated volunteers, we removed the failing carpet from her bedroom, bathroom, and her caretaker’s room. Thanks to the generous donation from Paulson’s Flooring, we installed new laminate flooring, creating a safer, more durable living space.

But the work didn’t stop there. Despite unpredictable spring rain and hail, our volunteers tackled much-needed landscaping projects to help Ms. Baxter avoid fines from park management.

What a way to kick off our 2025 project season!
