HomeDepotPalmer Project
July 13-16 in Fairview

PalmerMr. & Mrs. Palmer live in a double-wide mobile home in Fairview. Mrs. Palmer is in her late 80's, she works as a courier and takes care of Mr. Palmer. He is in his early 90's, and is a veteran who is finding it more difficult to get around these days.  He walks with the assistance of a walker, and is having more difficulty getting in & out of his home.  We are partnering with the Troutdale Home Depot to replace a portion of their existing front deck with a brand-new ramp so that Mr. Palmer can continue to enjoy the outdoors.  We will also be replacing their gutters, doing some major landscaping, and some other minor repairs while we're there.   Home Depot will be providing volunteers and funding for materials!  $4,800 is being given toward the purchase of materials from the Home Depot Foundation!

SCHEDULE:

  • Thursday, July 13 - Massive yard cleanup; demo rear portion of deck; pour concrete for new landing and posts
  • Friday, July 14 - Landscaping; begin building new ramp, gutters & downspouts
  • Saturday, July 15 - Finish building ramp, paint with 2 coats non-slip coating; finish all other projects if able
  • Sunday, July 16 - Finish projects as needed; cleanup
